Netflix announced Monday (Nov. 21) three upcoming comedy specials from legendary comic Dave Chappelle.

The deal will include an exclusive special from Chappelle and director Stan Lathan. The other two are previously unreleased shows – filmed at Austin City Limits and The Hollywood Palladium – from Chappelle’s vault and will be released simultaneously in 2017, according to Variety.

“Dave Chappelle is a legendary voice in comedy — searing, vital, and now more than ever, essential,” Lisa Nishimura, Netflix’s VP of original documentary and comedy, said in a statement. “Dave’s three new specials promise to be some of the most anticipated events in comedy.”

The upcoming specials will be his first since releasing “Dave Chappelle: For What It’s Worth” in 2004. The extended period between projects is attributed to his sudden disappearance from the public eye at the peak of his popularity in the mid-2000s. But over the last three years, Chappelle has been a force on the road, including his appearance on the post-election episode of “Saturday Night Live” earlier this month.
