Nike acknowledges the global popularity of Kevin Durant and the game of basketball and translates it into the design of KD7 “Global Game,” which will drop on Aug. 2.
Durant’s effortless scoring ability on the court has opened the door for the D.C. native to visit other continents and reach fans in distant lands. Durant will continue his globetrotting this summer when he leads USA Basketball in the FIBA World Cup in Spain. To signify the reigning MVP’s global reach, the metallic silver KD logo on the tongue features a graphic of the world.
“Action Red” serves as the primary color of the shoe and is complemented with a swoosh that is also metallic silver and decorated with a confetti print. The forefoot strap subtly includes the names of several of Durant’s family members, including his mother, Wanda (aka “The real MVP”).
