The upcoming “Wonder Woman” film has been on the minds of comic book fans since this summer’s Comic-Con event, where fans were treated to the first glimpse of Gal Gadot as Diana Prince, the famed Amazonian warrior princess.

Warner Bros. released new footage on Thursday (Nov. 3), showcasing more of Wonder Woman’s power and the conflict that motivates her to leave her homeland of Themyscira.

“I used to want to save the world – this beautiful place,” she says at the start of the trailer. “But the closer you get, the more you see the great darkness within.”

But when Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) arrives with news of a “war to end all wars,” Diana is compelled to pick up her sword and shield to save as many lives as possible.

The action-packed trailer continues with Wonder Woman in all her glory – blocking bullets with her bracelets, smashing through windows with her shield and leveling buildings with her golden lasso.

The film was directed by Patty Jenkins and written by Allan Heinberg and DC veteran Geoff Johns.

When “Wonder Woman” arrives in theaters on June 2, 2017, it will be tasked with improving the perception of DC’s cinematic universe, which has gotten off to a rocky start in the eyes of critics and moviegoers.
