Will Smith and Margot Robbie (“The Wolf of Wall Street”) heat up the big screen in the first trailer for “Focus,” a sleek crime/thriller from Warner Bros.
Smith plays Nicky Spurgeon, a master manipulator and veteran con man who believes he can “convince anyone of anything” and that “there’s a science to getting people to trust you.” Jess Barrett (Robbie) wants in on the fast cash and seeks out Nicky to learn the intricacies of misdirection and deception as an “intern.” However, feelings enter the equation and begin to cloud things and complicate their operation.
“Focus” is directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the same duo that directed “Crazy, Stupid, Love” and wrote “Bad Santa” and “Bad News Bears.”
The trailer, which you can watch below, isn’t all about seduction and deceit; there are a few moments of light humor and clumsiness.
The film hits theaters on Feb. 27, 2015. Are you interested in possibly checking it out?
