As fans eagerly await the Nov. 21 debut of “Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I,” Lionsgate released the official trailer that will surely fan the flames of excitement surrounding the film.
The explosive trailer shows Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) squarely in the midst of a full-on rebellion against the Capitol, as she aims to rescue her Hunger Games partner, Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), and serve as the beacon of hope for the nation.
“I never wanted any of this,” Katniss explains to President Snow (Donald Sutherland). “I never wanted to be in the games. I just wanted to save my sister and keep Peeta alive.”
“Mokingjay Part I” is the third film of the widely-popular Hunger Games franchise, with the fourth and final installment slated to be released in November 2015.
Lionsgate has done an admirable job of engaging the community as the premiere of Mockingjay approaches. Over the summer, Lionsgate released two propaganda commercials (“Together as One” and “Unity“) featuring Snow attempting to quell any rebellion attempts while preaching solidarity. And at Comic-Con, the company offered a teaser, which shows Plutarch Heavensbee (portrayed by the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman) proclaiming Katniss as the face of the revolution.
